Paul Ainsworth’s The Mariners gets an SD makeover

    SD Sealants’ cosmetic repairs
department has won a highly sought-after contract with celebrity chef Paul
Ainsworth this year, providing one of Cornwall’s culinary jewels with a
    makeover.

The Mariners Pub in Rock has been
a staple for Cornish residents and tourists for almost three decades and in
February this year, it changed hands from one Michelin star chef to another.

Chef Paul Ainsworth, and his wife
Emma, acquired the lease from Nathan Outlaw earlier this year. To mark the new
ownership, Paul and Emma decided to give the venue a much needed refresh, with
the help of the SD Sealants team.

    Paul Ainsworth said on the
project: “We are really excited to take over the Mariners – I know the
importance of this restaurant to the locals and tourists alike, it’s an
institution. We are absolutely committed to continuing the success of the venue
so we wanted to give it a fresh new look in time for the summer.”

The SD Cosmetic Repairs team have
been brought on to the project to update the restaurant’s decor, including
re-spraying of the windows, doors and front of house.

Overlooking the serene Camel Estuary in the heart of Rock,
The Mariners boasts a sunny terrace, a first floor balcony and panoramic views
    from the upstairs dining area.

    Managing Director at SD Sealants,
Nick Jones, said: “We are delighted that Paul and Emma have awarded our team
this prestigious project. The Mariners is a beautiful venue and we’ve loved
being a part of the redevelopment process. We’re all now looking forward to
enjoying some of Paul’s famous Cornish hospitality!

    “This new contract is the
culmination of a lot of hard work and meticulous on-site skills from our
cosmetic repairs technicians, and we are over the moon that The Mariners team
have recognised this and trusted SD with such a big project. I very much look
forward to seeing more exciting developments for our repairs division this
    year.”

Launched in 1973, SD Sealants originated as a family run
business in Somerset that specialised in the supply and application of sealant.

Since then, the business has gone
from strength to strength, becoming one of the UK’s largest tiling, repairs and
sealant companies, with nine offices across England, Scotland and Wales.
